Hello all I hope everyone is doing very well. I just wanted to let everyone know that we are going to have a meeting on Thursday May 15th at 7:00pm in the FLC. We would like for everyone who can attend to be there. We only have a few shorts weeks to go before we leave. We will be getting everyone up to date at this meeting and hopefully getting all of our paper work filled out.
Also, it is very important that you turn in any money that you have collected asap. Just drop it off in the red box outside Chris' office. It is getting down to crunch time. Keep up the good work on raising your support. We will all get their as a team.
God bless,
Derek

Packing List
1. Packing List: Our goal in packing is to go to Peru with a FULL bag and come back with a bag that is NEARLY EMPTY. Try not to pack too much for yourself. It’s sooo nice to come back with a light bag.
- Pants and t-shirts. Don’t wear anything you can’t get dirty. It’s great to wear stuff you can leave down there at the end of the week. If you choose to bring shorts remember it is around 60 degrees during the day and 30 at night so be prepared and don’t make them to short please!
- Long-sleeved shirts. See above.
- One light-jacket that will keep you warm in Lima and Cusco at night.
- One nice outfit to wear to church (i.e. khaki’s and a decent shirt for guys, maybe a long skirt and decent shirt for girls)
- Enough socks and underwear for a week. You will be able to shower!
- Sleeping bag to help keep you warm at night though you will not need it in Lima you will be staying in a hostel.
- A small flashlight or head lamp.
- Shampoo, soap. Go ahead and bring a full bottle of shampoo and share with teammates, and then just leave extra there!
- Toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, deodorant, and other toiletries.
- Hand wipes/sanitize to take with you to the work site each day.
- Sun screen, sunglasses, hat or visor. (Yes even though it will be cool and up in the mountains we will still be near the equator and the sun is still around so take caution.)
- Towel and washcloth. REI has really good pack towels that take up very little space.
- Tennis shoes - sturdy enough for a afternoon soccer game. If you have old shoes that you might get rid of soon, you can leave them there at the end of the week.
- Sandals - you’ll want to shower in these.
- Bible, Journal, pens/pencils
- Camera, film, extra batteries, etc. If you bring a charger, make sure it can handle a current of 220V
- Passport = MANDATORY!!
- $35 cash for airport taxes, credit cards, emergency cash.
- Money belt (optional)
- Any personal medications (trip leaders might want to bring Advil, Tylenol, Benadryl, etc.
- Earplugs - trust me on this one!!!
- Work Gloves
- A jar of peanut butter, which ever kind you like...this will be used for some pack lunches throughout the week and left as a donation.
- A few granola bars if you’re a big snacker - they feed us a LOT, but some people...
- A can of powdered Gatorade mix...essential to stay healthy and hydrated!
- Bug repellant. Get something strong with DEET in it, but stay away from aerosols.

Things to think about
1. Shots - This is a foreign country and some shots are recommended. You can check the front line Peru web site (www.frontlineperu.org) or call a travel clinic to make sure what is needed (Marietta Community Health Center #770-514-2485).
2. Passports - Everyone will need an in date passport to get in and out of Peru so make sure you get one soon ((VERY IMPORTANT we have had two cases already with a expired passport in Guatemala and one last year with one arriving the split second we left for Peru last year)).
3. Special Needs - We will be working with kids who need love more than anything. However if you know a dentist or someone who has their own business that might be willing to donate something please let me know.
4. Customs - Every country is unique and diffrent so if you get a chance look up and read about Peru.
5. Shopping - We will have some time to visit a local market to shop. Make sure to make a list of sponsors and bring a little extra money to support the locals. (Also if you plan to exchange your money it is best to do so in Peru there was a charge for it in the Atlanta airport but no charge in the lima airport.).
6. Fund raising - I know that this trip seems expensive but God WILL provide. There are people who wish to help out who are unable to go so make sure to give them a chance to be apart. If you need sample support letters let me know.
7. Prayer - None of this happens without prayer. Everything we do must be covered with God and his Blessings so please be in Prayer.
We will be having as many meetings as needed. If you are unable to attend please keep in touch thru e-mail. I hope you all are excited about what God will show us and hope He will use us.

Peru Update
Hey, I need everyone to send me their Passport # and their Name as it appears on it. This is very important so make sure it is the same. If you went last year I have them already so don't worry about it. Thanks and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
Chris
Also, please be in prayer for our friend Curt Grayer. He has been a mainstay on our mission trips every year. This year however we have found out that he has been deployed to Iraq. Please keep him in your prayers.
On the note of prayer. Please start looking for and praying about who your prayer partners will be. You need at least three people to partner with you. They will be responsible for praying for you while we are gone. I have already ordered the prayer bracelets and they should be here soon.
One last thing if you have not found out about shots. I suggest you call the Marietta Travel Clinic at 770-514-2485. If you tell them where you are traveling too; they can tell you what shots are required and what shots they recommend.
Thanks and God bless,
Chris
Hello,
I hope that everyone is doing well and continuing to pray for our upcoming trip to Cusco Peru. I wanted to update everyone on all the info that I have so below you will find that. Please remember that we are selling books and have The Huge Yard Sale to raise funds for this trip. If you have not already GET YOUR PASSPORT this is very important and make sure you have enough time or if you need to expedite it.
Organization- Frontline Peru: frontlineperu.org
Dates- June 5th -12th
Plane
We have check with many carriers and I plan on putting deposits down for 12 today. If you have and ideas or concerns please call or write to let me know.
Delta - $991.00
Spirit- $662.30
I am putting the deposit with spirit. However we will need to come up with the rest of plane cost soon, any ideas are welcome. They are a cost efficient airline which means we save on cost but pay for service. If you want something to eat or drink on the flight it cost extra. I do think that the cost outweighs the other.
Work and VBS
We will be doing both I am waiting on the details and should have them soon.
Trip Cost:
Cusco- $580
This includes the plane ride to Cusco, food, and shelter
Machu Pichu- $200
This is an all day excursion to one of the Wonders of the world. I believe that this is optional but do know most of the team plans on going. This is one of those once in a lifetime opportunities.
Total- $1500.00
This is still our goal cost many have already worked off on this and we will continue to offer ways to reduce it. This is a great opportunity for us all to spread our comfort zones in serving Our Risen Lord...
Prayer Partners-
I have ordered 200 prayer bracelets that you will be giving to your prayer partners and extras to sale for funds.

Peru June 2008
First of all let me say welcome. I pray for everyone who is considering going on this trip. We are having a informational meeting Sunday, March 2nd. The dates for the trip are June 5th through June 12th. We will be going to Cusco located in the Andes Mountains of Peru.
